In a brief special meeting May 11, the Floresville City Council certified the vote totals and declared the winners of the May 2 city council election.
Floresville City Secretary Evelyn Garcia announced the results of the canvass of the election returns; the vote totals are as follows:
- Mayor — Gloria Morales Cantu, 640; Marissa Ximenez, 523
- Place 1 — Daniel Tejada, 492; Dora Barrera Cantu, 661
- Place 2 — Mario Morones (unopposed), 788.
After voting to approve the canvass, the three council members present — Jake Lamberth, Frances Flores, and Felix Cantu — also voted to declare Morones and those receiving the most votes in their respective races as elected, each to a two-year term….
