The Animal Control department addresses reports of roaming dogs and cats, handles incidents involving animal bites, and captures and takes into custody dogs and cats that are not securely contained. The department is also responsible for issuing fines to pet owners who neglect to properly contain their animals and responding to all reports of animal abuse within the city limits.
